get ready To reconnect to yourself Your ohana.
Have Fun In The Sun. And Learn The True, Sacred Meaning of “Aloha”.
When you hear “Aloha” you probably think “Hello” or “Goodbye”. But, in Hawaiian culture, “Aloha” is a sacred word that evokes feelings of love, peace, and compassion. It is the guidepost for how the Hawaiian people live their lives and allow their hearts to overflow in such a way that their “Aloha” influences those around them.
The mission of our SoulShine Aloha Retreat is to provide you with an experience of the true meaning of “Aloha” and to give you the tools, insight, and to bring that “Aloha” home with you as you live your daily life.
What is the ALOha retreat?

Enjoy a delicious breakfast (with healthy options, of course) before your group workshops that utilize techniques specifically chosen by Courtney to allow for transformation and connection.
Then enjoy the rest of the day your way. We meet for dinner in the evening, so you have plenty of time for luxurious massage, relaxing by the water, or anything else you’d like to do.
And because we know you’re still on vacation when you’re here, we’ve built in two full days of free time. That means you can do Maui your way!

magical maui sunset sail
Experience a beautiful sunset from the water. Our sunset sail will bring us to the stunning Maui coast. Sip a locally brewed beer, a mai-tai, or a glass of wine or champagne as we watch the sun sink below the horizon. Enjoy local pupus (appetizers) from the famous Down The Hatch eatery. And keep a look out for whales as they make their way to Hawaii between December and May each year.
Casual attire and a light jacket are recommended for this excursion.
For those who are prone to motion-sickness, feel free to opt for something like dinner at Fleetwood’s on Front Street in Lahaina. While this isn’t included in the price of your retreat, it’s a great option for those who want to enjoy the sunset with a drink in hand.
Check In Location: 4:15 p.m. Lahaina Harbor, public loading dock, in front of the Pioneer Inn.
Duration: 4:30 p.m. - 7 p.m. (2.5 hours)
Molokini is one of Maui’s most incredible snorkeling destinations. It’s a crescent-shaped crater in a natural marine preserve, and is home to hundreds of unique species of fish. Our guides at Sail Maui combine sailing with snorkeling in this breathtaking experience.
This excursion includes a local continental breakfast before we set out to sail Ma’alaea Bay. Once we reach Molokini, we’ll snorkel before rinsing off in a fresh water shower. After we snorkel we’ll enjoy a lunch buffet and drinks.
This excursion includes the snorkeling gear and flotation devices.
Check In Time: 7:15 a.m. at Maalaea Harbor
Duration: 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. (5 Hours)
the Mount Haleakala Miracle
You will be witnessing one of Courtney’s favorite events in Maui, the sunrise on the summit of Mount Haleakala.
Here’s what she had to say about it
“Imagine being above the clouds and seeing the first rays of light touch the star filled sky. It is one of the most sacred feelings that I have ever felt. A Native Hawaiian leads a brief sacred chant during the sunrise that will send chills up and down your spine. If you love feeling close to your higher power, be prepared to feel 10,000 feet closer.”
While it is perhaps the most breathtaking of our excursions, it may not be for everyone.
PLEASE READ CAREFULLY: Sunrise during our trip will be at 6:00 a.m. We will be arriving there around 5:15 a.m. to be able to witness the amazing star lit sky.
In order to witness this natural marvel, we will have to be up and out of the resort around 2:15/ 2:30 a.m. We hope to take on this adventure during one of our first days on the island because we will still be on east coast time so it’ll feel like 8 a.m. to you.
There are several important facts that you MUST READ before saying yes to this excursion:
The Summit Area of the park begins at 7,000 feet in elevation and reaches 10,023 feet at the summit.
The high altitude at the Summit Area may complicate health conditions and cause breathing difficulties.
Elderly visitors, pregnant women, young children, and those with respiratory or heart conditions should consult their doctors prior to traveling to high elevations.
To help avoid major safety concerns, be sure to walk slowly at high elevation and drink water to avoid dehydration. The area we will be traveling through is remote and will take about 1 hours for emergency help to arrive, if needed. If you have any known medical issues, I will need to see a medical note from a doctor allowing you to travel to Mount Haleakala.
The road up and down the mountain does not have streetlights or guard rails. It is also extremely winding, so if you get motion sickness you may want to take something or rethink the trip up there.
It takes approximately 1.5 hours to drive between Kahului (base of the mountain) and the summit.
Because of the fast ascension you may or may not get elevation sickness.
All together it will be about a 3 hour drive there and 3 hours back to Napili. We will have light snack and water in the van with us in case you get hungry or thirsty.
Dress warmly. Be prepared for all kinds of weather. Temperatures at the summit are at least 20 degrees colder than at sea level and often drop below freezing at sun rise/sundown.
It is recommended to pack a NorthFace jacket, hat, gloves, warm pants, socks and sneakers.
If you choose to further explore this area on your free day(s) or time, please go read more about it here.
Q & A section
How do I get to Maui?
All major airports in NJ/NY/PA area have available flights. There is NO direct flight to Maui, HI (OGG). There are, however direct flights to Honolulu, HI (HNL) and then you can take a 30-minute flight to Maui. Courtney recommends taking a brief layover in LAX or SFO to break up the flights if you feel they’re too long.
How long is the flight?
The total flight duration (without layovers) from Newark, NJ to Maui is 10 hours, 18 minutes.
do I need to pack a lot?
Let’s be honest. You’re in MAUI!
Chances are that most of the time you will be in a bathing suit. Courtney typically brings just a carry on. But, if you do not mind paying for a checked bag, bring as much as you want! There is a Target on the island as well, in case you would like to purchase things there.
There are sea turtles everywhere on just about every beach, so if you LOVE to snorkel, feel free to bring your own snorkel gear! (Island rates for the week to rent snorkel gear range from $15+ per day or $60+ per week.)
What is not Included in the retreat price?
Airfare is not included in price.
Lunches are not included as you’ll probably be out exploring the island mid-day and may not make it back to the resort for lunch.
DO I need a rental car?
The short answer: No.
The longer answer: Unless…
If you want to explore the island and go as you please, Courtney recommends that you consider renting a car. Parking is free at the resort. There are also other places besides the airport where you can rent vehicles as well. Rental cars can range from $200 - $300+ per week depending on the kind of vehicle you choose.
Your retreat cost only includes your airport transportation fees and excursion transport fees.
Are there Other Island Transportation options?
Uber, Vespa Rental, Bicycle Rental
When is the best time to arrive and depart the island?
The earlier you leave for Maui, the more time you have in Maui during that arrival day.
When departing Maui, you may like to leave in the evening (especially if you have a rental car) this gives you more time on the island and ensures you’ll sleep on your flight home.
Can I extend my stay?
Absolutely! Speak to us about special pricing to stay at Napili Kai at $350 per night. Extending your stay, including any meals will not be included in your retreat cost.
How Do I sign up?
Click the button below to sign-up.
Complete the form on the sign up page and Courtney will reach out so you can make your non-refundable payment.
What if I change my mind about going?
The retreat payment is non-refundable
However, if you can find someone to take your place then we can refund your payment minus a $300 transfer fee.
